Welcome to Ham Eye Am

Hello and Welcome! 

My name is Heather and I am the person behind Ham Eye Am! I came up with this name in 2011 so you can technically say that I've been a "professional" artist for about 15 years now. Though I have not started working and selling items independently until 2023 when life was in a place that said I was finally ready. I started with a few art prints and even fewer stickers but have now grown into making all sorts of creative fun, giftable items. I wish I could say that I had a style, and I think I do kind of, but really after working with so many brands and staying in their brand guidelines I have Ham Eye Am as a way to showcase any form of creativity I am feeling. Sometimes it's something cute, sometimes it's moody, sometimes its drawing, sometimes it's painting and sometimes it's creating something physical in the real world that scratches my texture itch. I'm happy that you're here with me on my journey and excited to share more with you! (alright I'm stealing this from myself to add to the about section, so you will see this twice.)

I decided to create a blog, once again as a random free will moment where I can go into more depth on the things that I'm either working on, worked on or give tips on how to make things for yourself. While I've only been selling art independently for a few years, I have also been working as a brand designer for a decade before that, and have a lot of knowledge that I would love to share. Also I realized with short form video becoming so popular, that I have never liked learning via video but always loved learning in a blog/written form. So instead of making videos (that constantly make my phone run out of space) which I don't even enjoy watching I could free myself from the trend and blog instead. Also I really can't keep to a schedule and would like these posts to be as organic as possible so I cannot give you a timeline on how often they will be made but I will try to get a separate newsletter started so you can get a notification.
